hello people, hope all is well. first i want to start off sending my condolences to Shay family. I got to know Ryan for a short period over the past two summers in Leuven, Belgium. A group of us stayed in there in 2006 and that is when I first met Ryan and Alicia. I must say they were stuck at the hip in a very loving way. The bit I knew of him , he was a caring person and a fun loving guy. I remember us all in the kitchen eating our muesli and everyone in the kitchen cooking dinner, having wine from time to time. My prayers are with the family. The track family did lose one of our own.
One thing about the track circuit that I love is great is the friendships we make. The competitions and traveling is great, but for me the friendships/contacts we make are great also. Overseas we are there for each other, be it, timing each other in workouts, shopping, cooking, socializing and just bonding together. You get to see the other side of these great athletes besides the runner side of them. Many times, even with people I know, I may not talk to them during the year, but when the season kicks off and we see each other, its like good friends who haven’t missed a beat. So any other people who are driving to compete on the circuit, you will gain great friendships of people from all over the world. Just another added bonus of our great sport.

My training:
This is def the best fall I’ve had training. My tempo runs, mile repeats, just the workouts in general are going great. Coach did mention to me that I’m looking stronger than ever. I’m constantly working on my mind and emotions to make that stronger. Sometimes things outside the track can affect you on the track. You have to know how to block them out or use them as a way to motivate you to achieve your goals. And yes,, apparently I’m doing that now, as apposed to last yr. we all go thru it from time to time. Having positive and supporting people around makes things a lot easier. All the negatives you have to ditch them below is a rough of my training week. I’m not all too particular about putting my workouts up, nor is my coach. Cant reveal the training secrets now ;)

Sunday- long run usually and hour or more run
Monday- distance or workout
Tues- morn run/weights --- eve. Workout or distance
Wed - plyos --- eve. Distance or workout
Thurs- morn run/weights --- eve workout or distance
Fri- distance or workout
Saturday-- distance or workout

All distance run are not hard, you have to have your easy days for recovery.

Tennessee-
My XC guys competed hard at SEC! im proud of them. We head down to Gainesville for regionals this weekend they are training great also. They are a great group of guys who do not back down from anyone. Sounds like coach watts huh? Lol all who knows my coach knows what im talkin about. And people who know how I am when it comes to competition knows I’m the same way. Go vols!

Fyi.
I’m looking for a picture Bob Dylan to draw. I cant quite find a high quality one or one that just grabs me. If any have one they can send let me know. I want one of a young Bob Dylan , that would be great. I saw one with him with a hat one with a feather in it, but it was low res.

Fyi segment on me-

Hmmm.. Lets see something about me.
I just wrote a new poem “Black American Man” pt. 1. Some have said its def one of my best. Its def my longest. I may share it one day. I’m learning how to swing dance… I’ve learned the 6count and the Charleston. What can I say , a brother loves to dance. Anyone can back it up, not everyone can dance ;) of course my pops says I get it from him. I have seen him break down some old Jackson 5 steps....funny
