This past weekend we just got back from our training camp in a new location for the first time since Ive been here. We ended up going to a place called Baker Camp near Harriman State Park. It was a nice change because previously we just stayed in a hotel and everyone was kind of secluded in their own rooms, where as here we were in two cabins and could move around as we wanted. Also there was much more to do between runs like swin in the lake, play volleyball, or just hang out outside. The only problems were… more »

On Tuesday we came back from Vermont after almost 5 weeks of good solid training. It was perfect weather for the most part for running, it usually never got about 70-75 degrees. I think maybe I ran only a total 20 miles if that on pavement the entire time were there, the rest was either on dirt roads or trails so I got in a lot of good softer surface training. The last three weeks we were there I was running about 95 miles a week, which was good to do with other people instead of having to do it… more »

One of the things that I think will be beneficial about the way training is going right now is that Im starting later than when I did last year. The reason I think this might be better is because I feel like last year I kind of burnt myself out going too hard in the summer and doing workouts too early. I remember last year doing some type of workout in the… more »

In the Beginning....

I decided that I want to start keeping a little bit of a blog about things that Ive kind of picked up through training, racing, and anything else revolving around running. On of the things I wanted to start off with while Im taking some time off before starting up again for XC is the attitude I think is important in order to be successful. Ive read Ryan's (Sheridan) interview (http://www.flotrack.org/articles/view/1193-ryan-sheridan-kwik-e) a?few times now and I think the one thing that really strikes me as impressive is how he just really enjoys running. I think thats something you can see… more »
