RESTING AND WAITING

I have done my last workout. It went well. I have just been getting a lot of treatment for my body. Trying to make sure everything is good and ready. Since we are one of the last events, we have to wait around until it's time for us to run. It is cool on one hand because we are able to fix or work on any last little nicks, nacks, or injuries we may have, but it is a bit tough because we have to wait around while everyone else is in competition mode. The key is to not use too much energy worrying or thinking about your race because we have had so long to wait, yet, you do not want your body to start to feel like it is on a vacation. So you have to stay sharp but relaxed at the same time, try not to train too hard because you are already fit and in shape. It is great seeing how unified the team is and how everyone cheers for each other. Track is amazing, it's amazing because it parallels life. Everyone here has already had some measure of success, but no one sits on that success and feels content. Everyone strives and wants to be and do better. Track teaches persistence. It teaches dedication. It teaches honesty ( being honest with yourself on what you are capable of doing). It teaches the same lessons that life teaches. You always give your best. Focus on the important points. It's amazing that you can see all the best athletes in the world and on one hand see how similar we all are. Yet, on the other hand the small differences that make up a big difference. What's amazing is that I bet if there were some research done there would not be sooo much of a difference from all of the great athletes here and all of the other great individuals in any other field of life. Whether it is the field of medicine, law, finance, social services, and all other titles one may have. All of the athletse here and all of the other individuals whom acheive great things may have one thing in common. MENTAL POWER. But, there are some degrees to this. Because even though everyone has some degree of mental power, we have to use it properly and at the right time. This is what is amazing to me. Champions seem to always have that focus and mental power at the right time. Whether they are a world champion runner or a world champion parent. So for me , just like I observe in every day life, it amaze me to see people using that power. SO I guess I need to figure out how to use mine properly and at the right. It's time to race!!!!

Thats a great way to look at it. With that type of attitude and that approach, you've got things going the right direction. Good luck and take it to 'em. Go USA!
