The season has started! I hope all is excited and tuned in. Let's focus on having fun and keeping it simple:

The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep. Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, "Kemo Sabe, look towards sky; what you see?" The Lone Ranger replies, "I see millions of stars." "What that tell you?" asked Tonto.

The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says, "Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning. Theologically, the Lord is all powerful and we are small and insignificant in comparison. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What's it tell you, Tonto?"
"Someone stole our tent."

Josh Im deleting your last post bc u are a troll and that makes you lame. Please add something to the conversation. KD is the man and entertaining because every race is up in it and sticking his nose in it. If he does not run all out he will tell you and does not make excuses. Like I said he is the man and I have much respect for him. Oh yeah, one more thing, bashing a person behind a fake name is also lame.
Thanks, Mark. I believe that remarks about ALL runners need to be clean and helpful to encourage other runners in this, the greatest sport (Passion) of all sports. Bravo. Keep the running family together! Ken

My opinions about KD are the opposite of that d-bag Josh Carr. I think KD is world class all the way and I hope he keeps running for a long time.

If the man wants to run and more power to him, he's not hurting the sport and he brings int'l experience to the races. Who cares what he says, maybe rivalries like his with Symmonds will boost the sport's popularity.
He's A-okay in my book. Plus the dude is fast and isn't track about being fast? I like the quote, the "KISS" motto applies, Keep It Simple Stupid. Excited to see him in the summer and lay down a 1:43 time.

he was the 14th fastest 800 runner in the world last year. Why should he retire?

KD is "garbage"? Didn't he split, like, 1:44.xx at Penn? Josh, dude. Pull your head out of your ass. The incredible fullness of your stupidity is absurd.

Josh, what I believe Mark is referring to by "fake name" is the fact that you are not using a profile, so no one can access your stats and previous posts.

Also, KD is arrogant? Have you seen his interviews?! I am especially referring to his interview after the trials last summer. He is gracious in triumph and defeat. You have no grounds for your argument, and quite frankly there is no reason for you to be commenting. Your comments are negative and nonsensical, and you have no apparent accomplishments of your own with which you could stand behind.

I did happen to notice he ALMOST made the team last year along with countless others. Excuses are futile; KD lost. And a U.S. final is about as equal as an African middle-school championship. Maybe you have so much fevor for the guy becuase you too suck at running. Step out of your little empathetic box and make the seemingly obvious realization that we don't need more garbage like KD.
Josh Carr, if you are going to insult a world-class athlete, I suggest you at least do so with correct syntax, spelling, and grammar. "about as equal as"? "fevor" (fervor?) etc. etc.

KD is extremely legit, and I guarantee that if you ask any of the runners that you admire they will tell you the same thing. He may be "old" as far as elite runners go, but he is still leaning at the tape with the best of them, whether or not he pulls out the win or not. His best days may be behind him, but they very well may not as well.
Your brief statement on why you think a man who has dedicated his life to a sport should retire is a complete insult, and shows an extreme arrogance and naivety that you would choose to use such a medium in order to communicate such an opinion. I hate to break it to you, but someone of such high accolades will probably not determine the termination of their career based on a Flotrack blog comment. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and allow other people (let alone adult professionals) to make their own decisions.

Did you not notice that the man almost made the Olympic team last year? He got out leaned at the line by Wheating and Smith. Maybe you are getting old and need to get your eyes checked. If you don't respect KDR then you can't respect anyone. It is never pathetic to pursue a World Championship. Only 8 men make the final meaning that everyone else that started out the season seeking the championship didn't fulfill their goal, you can't not respect everyone that didnt make it son.

The season has started, but why is Khadevis still getting attention. I enjoy watching your races, man. I really do. What I don't do is respect you. You have too much expertise and knowledge to keep running. I mean why not be a full-time coach. You and everybody else on Flotrack knows that you are not going to win any world-wide championship soon. According to your decline over the years, I say that you are well past your peak. To pursue a world championship or any kind of record is quite pathetic. Do something bigger man. All running aside, as is your blog, I enjoyed the allegory. But back to you, man. Someone needs to tell you your full-time coaching potential. Someone needs to tell you your track career is subject to aging. Someone needs to tell you that you are not one of America's prominent distance runners. I hope this message finds you, man. I really do.

I really enjoyed that short story. I also noticed that the short title fits well with the simplicity theme. Well done.
