Hey Everyone,

I'm finally sorta settled down. So i finally got a chance to come blog.

China is awsome!!! The flight was crazy long and it seemed like i was never going to get any sleep. We showed up to the Olympic Village and it was really hectic trying to get our credentials and going through security. Securtiy is intense. They have two sets of barbed wire fence surrounding the complex with a man stationed every 100m or so.

The next day we flew out to Dalian. Many people had been saying the air quality was bad but in reality the air was really clean. The weather is great the hottest that it has really gotten here is about 85. The Olympic Training center is amazing. We are staying at this resort next to the ocean. It has a golf course, movie theatre, a bowling alley, big swimming pool and a lot of security guards.

Today a couple of us went out to down town Dalian. The chinese people were amazed at us. I guess the fact that we had our own police/swat team escort didnt help. The securtity for us is really tight. Josh McAdams, Lindsey Anderson and I all hung out. We started off by walking into this 5 story building, walking by a place that sold chicken hearts, livers, and squid on skewers. Josh tried to coax me into trying them but it wasnt happening.

We did some light shopping walking through the building unaware that we were being followed by our own personal body guards.

I will try to put up some pics so everyone can see what the complex looks like.

Big shout out to Everyone back home.

And go Team USA

Did you guys went to Xinghai Square(Xinghai Plaza), that is a must-see attraction in Dalian, beside that plaza there is Binhai Road( very nice view along that road)
Seafood in dalian is most famous throughout China. Try it also.
When you buy stuff except food in China, most stores price is negotiable.
, even cut 50% percent off the original price. original $100, you ask $50 for it, if seller says no, you ask $60,70.... That is the way people live there.
Give my wishes and warm welcome to you guys, and enjoy your time in Dalian.

Leo, nice to know your guys’ story over there. I was born in Dalian, where my parents live 30minutes from your resort, close to the little mall you went. I was laughing when read your blog about those police. My dad is one of those police actually. It is said that they treat US athletes as first class security, as I understand, when foreign leaders, presidents come, there will be 1st class security. Even I don’t think it is necessary or not, safety is important for you guys. All those policemen are very busy these days. My mom starts to complain already…. Haha.

Dalian, where the US team is staying, is a resort community about 300miles, a 1 hour flight, from Beijing. The weather is similar but the air quality is better as it is along the coast. If you look at a map, they are actually not too far from the Korean pennisula. Most of the athletes will stay here other than perhaps going over for the opening ceremonies and then ultimately going over the couple of days leading up to their events. Some athletes are even staying in San Diego much longer before even going over to this base camp for the team.

Best of luck with everything Leo!

How is the air over there? Is Dalian close to the Olympic stadium or is it a bit of a hike?

Awesome. Thanks for the pics. Looks like the training center is a nice resort. Must be a good way to keep relaxed and still get some great touch up training in.
