So... tired...

Why am I so tired all of the time!?! It doesn't matter that I slept for 12 hours last night, I still didn't want to get out of bed. When it was time to run, I had drag myself outside, and I felt like I was falling asleep while running! Good thing today was an easy run...

But today's not the first time I've been exhausted beyond reason. It happens all the time, and it gets annoying. My junior year was particularily bad; I was doing really well with my running, and then one day I came home and slept for 18 hours, only to wake up still exhausted! The next day at school, I was falling asleep in class, and I was so tired before practice that I couldn't even stand. I went home that night and slept another 12 hours. I missed two days of school and a meet because of my lack of energy!

I know teenagers are supposed to be lazy and sleep a lot, but whenever I tell my friends I sleep until 1 in the afternoon, their mouths always drop in amazment. And it's not like I'm a night person... I go to bed pretty early, all things considered. I just LIKE sleeping.

I go to bed around 11... I guess that's not so early, but it's better than my friends who stay up until 2/3 in the morning.

Food wise... I eat a lot. Cereal, protein bars, fruits in the morning. A normal meal (some type of meat, veggies, more fruit) for dinner. I'm working at the movie theatre a lot, so usually for lunch I have some popcorn. That's not really a great set up, but with only thirty minutes to go out, buy food, come back, and eat, it works out better. Sometimes I'll grab beef jerky or an apple before I leave the house, but I'm almost always rushing out the door and manage to forget it.

Ever since the start of high school I've felt tired, so about 4 years. I always just thought it was because I stayed up too late doing homework, but even during the summer I'm tired. The workload's not much difference. In fact, I think the cross country exercises my college coach are a bit lighter than the workouts my high school coach gave me.

What time is pretty early? (that you go to bed) What type of fuel (food) do you run on? How long have you felt tired for and what type of training workload were you undertaking before and now?
