And so it begins....
January 24, 2008
Today is the start of the 2008 track season for me and for Flotrack's race coverage and like the feeling you get before your first race of the season, "How can I be expected to run fast when we haven't done any workouts on the track?", I am feeling a lil of the butterflies. I haven't done any play by play since I think Huesden, XC doesn't really count, and I'm wondering if I can PR..I mean, be coherent behind the camera.
I should prob tell you, if you don't already realize, I made it back safe and sound from my trip around the world and it was a great time and we got some great content. I have to make a wrap up video but when I got back i only had a few days to get situated for my trip to Boston. The only thing I regret was missing a Buster workout. Buster and his group were in Melbourne but things just did not fall in to place so I had to leave the land of OZ without a killer video, sorry about that.
Right now I'm in Boston, crashing at Ryan Fenton's (reading "In Style" above) place. As you can see I am reading "Budget Travel" and one the best ways to save some of the cash and to have a lot more fun on trips is to crash with people that emailed you 7 days before your trip. Ryan was a steepler at Clemson and a Flotrackr so he offered up his place for the good of the sport. Seriously though, the running community has been amazing to me and to Flotrack and I just want to say thanks again to everyone who comes on here and especially to Ryan for the good dip and pita chips. I hope we can have a great Track season together.
Later,
Mark Flo
P.S. So today's vid will be the race footage we get from the first day of the meet.
P.S.S. If you read the comments below you will see that Ryan and me found out last night that we raced one time when we were young pups. To my disgust he beat me and I am not proud of it.
