It's up to the community

So Zap Fitness in Boone, NC was a ton of fun and I should get a video up of the whole experience sometime next week I hope. Today Madhu and I filmed an Ohio State workout so I hope to get that up as well.
Now on to business of the T=shirts. We wanted to say thanks for all the community has done for us, so we are giving away some Black Shirts. We don't like to many rules here at the HQ (Flocasts World Headquarters), but we did not want people to abuse the system and get a bunch of shirts or guess 100 times for Nick Willis' shoes so we said you had to login to guess. I don't think that is unreasonable do you? Flotrackr is free and it takes like 2 mins to sign up. I was not clever enough to come up with a game for the Ts so I said the first from each state can get a free T.
Ok, now on to the decisions. We can only give a T to each state.
1.) A couple of people were not logged in when the guessed. What should we do? Do they get their shirt or do we move on to the next person from their state who was logged in?
2.) If you read my last blog Kevin Akers posts that he was the second person who commented, which he was, but he did not leave his state. What do we do about Kevin?
3.) Some people claimed states but want me to send it to other states for one reason or another. I am pretty sure gullible is not written on the ceiling but let me know your thoughts on that.

Also if you did win fill-in your state info on your flotrackr account by lets say...... Wed 1AM Orlando time (For lil Penny)

Let me know your thoughts so we can send these black shirts OUT!

late

Moodrunner from Columbia, SC: If you haven't already sent out the shirts, I'd like a Medium if you've got one. BTW, Great job on the site. My favorites are the runner's lifestyle videos b/c you really get to see their personalities. Without that connection they're just another name on a results list to most spectators. Great work and please don't stop!

1. IMO if they weren't logged in, it shouldn't count. Logging in was an important part to make sure people weren't abusing your kindness and it is really easy.
2. Give it to him I say, he probably was just really excited :) (I would be too!)
3. Booooooo on them. Cheaters don't deserve your kindness.

I think I was second from Illinois, but the first registered from that state, so obviously being registered is a necessary, albeit not sufficient, reason to get a shirt. More importantly, as a former Iggy, you must want your T-shirt exhibited on campus, and I promise, in this election year, to wear my XL to school when I go to my son's soccer games. I can't believe I'm groveling for a shirt.

I don' want people to get worked up. I posted because you guys are the part of the site and should help with the decisions. As of right now we can only give away a little over 50 shirts because of numbers and time (50 states maybe a foreign country or two and the people that helped find the winners). So I hope we can come to a conclusion. Kevin..... touche, you will get one. Anyway lets not get to worked up and just discuss a solution so we can send these puppies out.

i was logged in when i commented and i figured i wouldn't have to leave a state. the post indicated you would figure that out by checking the flotrackr state info which is up on my account. it seemed simple enough to me just to check state info using flotrackr but it is getting a bit complicated.

Ok well to be honest i think people should stop being so worked up about it. Mark made the rules clear and after all the coverage he has gotten for us, people still complain about a t-shirt (a super cool one yes but still a t-shirt)

I think you made the rules quite clear. The first person who was signed in when they commented and whose profile said that they were from that state would get the shirt. It would be a crapload of work to check all that, but if you wanted to be fair, someone would have to check. I searched for profiles from DC and didn't find a single one but my own! The user Bdanza was the first from DC to comment, but i couldn't find a profile for anyone else who said they were from DC. Maybe it's just because of the search. Maybe it's cuz I'm the only registered member from DC (since January!)? Again... I have no problems waiting and buying a shirt when you find a way to put em up for sale... but, if you want to be "fair," someone with the right access has to go through and check.

Ok. So I went for a run and cleared my angst. Assuming you have enough T's; for those people who didn't follow the directions, give them one more chance to win another shirt. Make another game just for those people. Although, the anonymous poeple unfortunately aren't eligible. So the first ones to post that did follow the directions get the first T's and those who could have won but didn't follow the directions (barring the anonymous)get a consolation round.

Really! It's kind of like being in line at the grocery store. "Sorry Mr./Mrs. cashier. I got the groceries. I just forgot my money. Minor detail."
