Sometimes you have to take one step back to go two forward and I do not know if we have gone one step back the last couple of months but we have spent a majority working on the back end so we can step it up a notch. I spend my waking hours thinking how we can push the envelope, how we can make the sport better and more entertaining, how we can survive! Ever since the beginning of Flotrack we have had his idea of how a track broadcast could be produced and this Friday night we are taking a big step towards that idea. For the first time, we believe, in track broadcast history (possible sports history *this is not the case read below) the viewers at home will be able to interact and help the play by play announcers while the meet is streamed LIVE.
Friday night at Mt. SAC, Flotrack will have a live broadcast with a live blog underneath where you can ask/answer questions, give splits, and every bodies favorite, tell us when we screw up. There will be multiple cameras and if you don't think we are showing the the second pack enough, tell us, and we will try to get the shots you want.
If you can't tell, I'm really excited to see how it goes down on Friday night bc this can build on our next coverage where we have some more crazy ideas on how we can push the envelope even further. Friday Night's historic coverage is just another example how a grass roots revolution can and has changed our sport. So if you live on the east coast, eat an early dinner and get back to the casa, if you live out west, order in, and if you live in Australia, wake up early to watch the Mt. SAC Relays Live on Flotrack.
Badda Boom Badda Bing!

*Dr. Marla Bennet of Syracuse University conducted a Video stream and live interactive blog for the 1999 Big East Indoor Championships which is pretty crazy and innovative considering that was well before youtube and everyday video streaming on the web.
