The New Flotrack

Mark From Flotrack | Profile
June 4, 2008

As of 12:39 AM central time the New Flotrack went LIVE!

We have been working on this for the last 7 months and we are so excited that we are finally done with it. It has taken longer then we originally thought but it is done now and we need your help to let us know what you like and don't like. So please play around with the site and if something does not work please tell us. We need to know so we can fix it. If you find something that does not quite work let us know by going to our BUG PAGE. Write us a message in the comment box and we will look into it. Well I am excited to hear your comments, criticisms and suggestions.

Later,
Mark Flo

Did we lose the ability to attach videos to race results?

Not a huge friend of the "my friends activity" feature either. It brings to mind the stalker facebook feed, which so many people disliked. Plus Mark I really want to continue to stay friends with you but it keeps filling a silly news feed with all your new friends, which i really don't need to know. It's nice you're so popular though :) I think there is a lot of great features out there in this new edition it is just going to take a lot of cleaning up because right now it looks cluttered.

It is different and I loved the old layout but I know it will just take some time and I will love this. It will be like facebook...

I don't really like the changes very much. I don't understand how to do most of things that I used to know how to. I will try to get used to it...

my username (my email) does not fit in the username box - it seems to be one letter too large - please expand the username box or advise how else to log in

I like it but could you put something on the profile to the number of miles for week, month, year, life. And maybe somthing that shows consecutive days of training.

I'm sure that eventually, we will all get used to it( just like when they changed milesplit!), and I under stand all the hard work that you have put into this, but I actually prefere the old version of the site much more.I also understand that you have to update, but It didnt seem like there was need of a change this big. It is also hard to figure out where everything is...cool new profile questions though!

ok, i understand you've been working on this new set up thing for a long time yada yada yada. But really, if you think about it there was nothing at all wrong with the old set up. I actually preferred it much more. I also think it would be better to have the blogs on the person that wrote it's profile, just a thought. but i will give this a chance....

Maybe I just have not figured it out yet, but with the old feature I could provide instant feedback, comments, etc. after checking my athletes logs. I don't see this option anymore. I hope this can be put back in. It is clean but a bit confusing so far.

People need to quit jumping the gun on the new look of the site. I was on for maybe 10 min and i figured all the logging information out. This site is good cause it compiles weekly and monthly average mile paces... which is just one of many good upgrades... the only other thing that i wish would be accessible is other people's (even if it just your team mates) running logs... besides that very clean look and unlike many people posting on here your work in revolutionizing the running experience is much appreciated... Thanks Guys

The "Friends Activity" on my profile page seems like a waste of space - I'd rather have my mileage, race results, etc.

As far as running logs, shoe closet, running maps, race results applications we will improve on it over next few weeks! Please be patient and we will make Flotrack better for you!
Telling us to "change it back to the old design" will not help. If a specific application isn't working or isn't easy to use, please be specific about it.
Thanks for your feed back. We want to ure you that we are reading your comments. In order to help us out, could you be more specific on what you like or dislike, what is confusing to you.

I can't edit shoe info and it is very difficult to add a new shoe. Can you post a link on the shoe log page?

I think it will take a little while to get used to - especially the Flotrackr part. I miss the mileage tallies on my profile's main page. But maybe that's an option. It took me a while to find some things but not because it was tough - mostly because it was just different. All in all, I think it looks like it could be an improvement, particularly in the running log area.

All of my logged miles ar gone. I find it hard to navigate. when I go to put a recent log, the page locks up and does not update :( I can't say that I like it so far, but I will continue to try it.

Problems with it abound. It's more confusing to locate things, and I'm also noticing that things on my profile were deleted. Mileage on my current shoes, random little things like, gone. I kinda have a soft spot for the old version. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" sums up how I feel about it. Maybe it'll grow on me, but for now it's kinda irking.
