Grass Roots Revolution - The Power of your Comments

Mark From Flotrack | Profile
August 9, 2007

Today is an exciting day for flotrack because we are introducing athlete blogs. A couple times a month our athletes will post and let us know about what they are doing on and off the track. It is another way for us to get to know our athletes. You will be able to leave comments and be flotrackr friends with the athletes. I encourage you to leave comments because I know how you guys have helped me keep on keeping on and I guarantee it will leave an impact. I cannot over state the power of your comments and words of encouragement.

It is hard to train your ass off when old friends think you should of hung up your track spikes after college and got a real job or ask you, "If you're still running?" .It sucks when your recent race result doesn't even make the local newspaper and It's not easy to get up every morning when you don't know if anybody else cares about you or track. Just like you and me appreciate a "Go get em!" or "Good Luck!" before we go to a job interview or to a final exam, our athletes appreciate your words just the same. We have to remember that our athletes are not like football or basketball players that have inbox's full of fan mail and signature requests. Your comments have a lot of power, so post! This is our way to cheer on our athletes in Osaka and as they train for the 2008 Olympics. Your words to Ritz before the 10k in Osaka or to Amy Hastings in the middle of Oct will help Ritz get to starting line more confident and make getting up before the brutal Arizona sun easier on Amy. Most of us cannot cheer for Anna Willard in Osaka or give water to Reid Coolsaet as he trains in Ontario but we can motivate and inspire the same athletes that inspire and motivate us. Your words are POWER!

Join the grass-roots revolution.
