January Trips

I got to spend most of the month of January in some nice warm weather areas. After the Houston half marathon I went to visit my brother in San Diego. It was nice to spend my downtime in some sunny weather. I was only back in Michigan for three days before a group of us took off for a week in Seattle to visit the Brooks location. This was our second week back to running so it was nice to get out of Michigan and get on some snow and ice free paths. While running on snow and ice free paths and roads was probably the best thing about the trip, we did get to do a few other things besides running. We did a little sightseeing during our trip and went to visit the fish market and the space needle. The women’s team watched Ryan and Paul race at the University of Washington, one of the nicest indoor tracks I’ve ever seen. We had some interesting meetings with the different departments at Brooks and got a sneak preview of the new clothes and shoes that Brooks has in store for the next few seasons. I also got to go home with a new pair of the Brooks Cascadia 3 trail shoes which have definitely made my list of favorite shoes. So, I think Jesse deserves a big pat on the back for making our trip awesome, and if he ever gets bored and needs some people to come visit I think we would be more then willing to help him out.
