Since recovering from stress fracture in March, all my training has been geared towards this week. I have now completed my final workout, and am ready to take on the world!! wooo! it`s nice to feel fast in training to have my confidence high 5 days out.

Yesterday's workout is one I have done many times, the week before a major race. This was by far the best I have ever felt, which was really surprising considering how tight and sore my hamstrings have been since the flight.

It went as follows:
150, 150, 200 (19.1,19.0,25.1 with 90-120secs rest)
150,150, 300 (18.9,18.9, 38.6)
150, 400 (19.1, 50.8)

Ron was hoping I might be able to run under 53 for the quarter, so I when I crossed the line and saw 50, I raised my arms in the air and let out a big "woooo" like I had just won the worlds!! The US sprinters must have thought I was crazy to be so enthused for a 10am workout. It was a huge boost for my confidence though. Being sick last week really killed some of my hopes for fast time-trials before heading over, but I'm now back and feel fully equipped to excecute the plan Ron and I have designed for these three races.

After the workout I caught a train back into athletes village in Osaka. Alistair Cragg and Mark fountain are in the rooms next to me, so it's great to have some guys to jog with, and kill some time watching old races on Youtube. I highly recomend watching Steve Cram race back in the mid 80's. His 800m in the 86 commonwealths is up there with my favourite races of all time.
