Up's and Down's

The “Up's” for the month was a long awaited PR (PB for you Canadians) in the 5k at the Husky Invite and a fun trip out in Seattle. The “Down’s” for the month were the following 2 weeks of training here in Michigan and a pretty lackluster performance at USAXC. When things start to get down around here I like to watch this video to cheer myself up.

That is pretty much how it is here at the Bloomer house. That is Humphrey with the great beard and Reneau with the giant pot belly.

The two good things out at US cross was the friends I had come out and watch the race as well as some friends that were in the race that I hadn't seen in awhile. It is always nice to hang out with good friends after a bad race just to put things in perspective. One person who did have a good race out in San Diego was James "Big Time" Carney who made the world team to Scotland despite finding a small chunk of concrete to take a tumble on early in the race.

So hopefully the weather starts to make a change here in Michigan and we can get some quality workouts in. Also just wanted to wish Rizzo some luck here in his recovery after getting hit by a car running the other day.

So everybody who guessed Tom Selleck got the “Name that Mustache” contest for the first month, some over zealous people went so far as to find the actual picture I used. I guess that is what I get for picking one of the more famous mustaches out there. But this month I made it a little harder, sorry for the blurriness of the picture but it was the best one I could find that would crop the mustache how I wanted. Since it is a harder picture this month, I will give one hint. This mustache comes from a great group of sport staches that are out there.
