Last month's Mustache belonged to none other then Doug Drabek 1990 Cy Young Award winner. I only saw a couple games at Three Rivers Stadium when Doug Drabek pitched but I knew then that it was a great mustache.

There are always those things that you don't forget especially in sports. Some memorable things for me seeing the Penguins in a Stanley Cup game versus the North Stars, sadly watching Sid Bream destroy the last good thing the Pirates had in the league championship game, the demolition of Three Rivers Stadium, the Steelers winning the Super Bowl. With the NCAA tournament in full swing now, all I want to see next that I will not forget is for Pitt to win the National Title. Winning the Big East was fun to watch but there is nothing better then a good run in the tourney. If they were to do that the only Championship left on my list to actually see would be the Pirates taking the World Series, which may be awhile.

Getting off the little daydream there, this month at the US 8k the NYRR did not disappoint with another first class event, that went about as smoothly as possible on their end. My race did not go quite as smoothly, getting a little sick right before the race and kicked in pretty hard the day after with a heavy cough. The first mile was about the hardest 4:36 I have run in a long time and the last 3k was probably one of the slowest 3k's I have run in awhile as well. But all you can do is get healthy and lay it on the line for the next one.

Name that Mustache

For some reason, the most memorable sports experience that I had was watching Sandy Koufax pitch at Crosley Field, back in 64 or 5..or 3?..anyway, it was near opening day, it was cloudy spitting rain and cold and nobody was there to watch.
They thought Koufax mow em down.
The Reds just bombed him. Even Veda Pinson hit a home run...
I think they had 15 runs in just a few innings.
I never could go a good mustache..isn't it terrible when you got alot to shave, but none of it looks cool?
