The last time I wrote we had just finished racing the Club XC National meet. Since that time I have been home to Indiana, out to New York, and down to Florida.

For most of the past few weeks I have been at my parents house in Indiana. It is always nice to go home and spend some time with my family and friends I don’t get to see for most of the year. However, the training in my hometown is not optimal, but the weather held up well and we didn’t see much in the way… more »

The Club Cross Country Championships is the culmination of our fall racing season. Last year was the first time we had run as a scoring team, and we won the championship. This year our goal coming in was to defend the title.

We knew we would have to run well in order to win again this year, as there were some good teams entered. We showed up to the course the day before and it was covered in slushly snow, and as I figured, by 1:30 on race day with 4 races under its belt, the course… more »

The cross country weather as arrived here in Blowing Rock, at least for now. Along with the weather came my first cross country race of the year, or perhaps it was the other way around.

But first, last weekend Jon and I ran a race in Erwin TN, home of the Apple Fest 4 miler. It was a road race and was the true definition of a rust buster. It is such a small, local race but every year there is some serious competition that shows up for the little prize money the race offers. This… more »

ZAP

I just finished up my first year here at ZAP, and now with the addition of Jon Pierce, I am no longer the "newbie". I would be lying if I said I was happy about the way my first year went from a competitive standpoint. However, Pete and I have learned from some of my shortcomings in races, and I am really excited about this upcoming Olympic year. My situation here at ZAP is all I could ever ask for as a distance runner trying to make it after college, and I am grateful to so many people for helping… more »
