Track and Field Blogs - Ryan From Flotrack

So I made the trek (hardly that) from Boston to NYC last weekend to cover the NSIC at the Armory and the US 8K champs in Central Park with Victor, Andrew, and Mike (see Mike trying to sleep and not happy with me in the pic). There were definitely some great races to watch this weekend on both sides.

The 8k saw Jorge and Shalane with victories, but some great runs by a bunch of athletes out there! Everyone was great to meet and seem really excited for this upcoming track season. On the high school side, some awesome stuff was going on....Christian Taylor with the triple crown (LJ, TJ, 400...impressive), some intense relays, a bunch of spills in the races, and record setting performaces! There is some great young talent out there and the future looks promising for the US. A highlight of the weekend was meeting Obea Moore from CA. For those of you who don't know, Obea is probably one of the great high runners in US history. He was running amazing times while I was in high school so it was great to meet him.
