Track and Field Blogs - Ryan From Flotrack

So today was day #35 of the move/road trip. I started in Maine and yesterday could be found in Arkansas. Guess where I am today.....Maryland! Kinda back-tracking it feels, but the good thing is I flew here not drove. I am in Baltimore covering the Maryland State Meet at Morgan State University. Today was 1A and 2A races, tomorrow will be 3A and 4A.....saturday will be finals for all classes. So on Sunday I'll be flying back to Fayetteville to grab my car and finish the journey to Austin!! It feels weird thinking I'm actually going to get there. There were some points I thought I would never get there in time and was going to have to meet Mark in Eugene, but its finally going to happen!

The trip has been good so far and I've meet a ton of great people along the way. Since the last entry I got to see an old roommate in Nashville (Nash Vegas I was requested to say by Mike up in Boston) and met with Vanderbilt's assistant coach Rhonda Riley. She took me on a great run in Percy Warner Horse Park, it was pretty sweet! Got a little muddy, but I got over it. Afterwards I trucked on to Fayetteville, but stopped for some highly recommended fried chicken in Memphis on the way (at Gus's....anyone been there?). I got to Fayetteville and it was a lot different than I had imagined. Very scenic for considering things I've been told about Arkansas. I got to meet Chris Mulvaney the first night I was there, talked with Coach McDonnell among others, went on a couple runs, and even played some golf with Alistair Cragg (see pic up top)....and I almost forgot Wallace Spearman. The athletic facilities there are impressive and the people were great. Thanks to Harper and Will for putting me up for a few days, I had a great floor to sleep on! haha

Well I'm due for some much needed sleep. The meet doesn't start tomorrow until 4 so I am taking full advantage of the time. IF ANYONE WANTS TO HELP OUT OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS LET ME KNOW...I TALKED TO MARK AND I MAY EVEN BE ABLE TO GET YOU A T_SHIRT (never know when that may happen again!). I'm going to leave you with a video from my travels that I forgot to put up....its kinda dark but hopefully you'll be entertained for a second. Hope all is well! AUSTIN I'M ALMOST THERE!!!




P.S. Being on the road solo has been tougher than I thought to find time to work on some videos I have for you. So over the next two weeks I should have some stuff that you will enjoy so STAY TUNED!!
