As a pole vaulter in Europe you get to experience all sorts of different competitions. Sure you get to compete in big stadiums in front of tens of thousands of screaming fans for big prize-money and I'll get the chance to do this on Friday when I compete in the Paris leg of the Golden League series. As a pole vaulter though, you get the opportunity to compete in competitions that few other athletes would experience and these are the 'town square' competition. They are held in town squares, shopping centers, airports, breweries or as the case was in Jockgrim,… more »

From Cologne, Germany. After what has been a pretty difficult month and a half I find myself in a really good place. I've finished my first week in Europe and competed in my first competition of my Olympic Preparation. The last six weeks have been tough. Monday's and Thursday's look like this:

Alarm. Morning Session. Breakfast. Physiotherapy. Nap. Pole Vault Session. Ice… more »

It was about 35 degrees(celcius) during the day and we we're under the shade of the grandstand, the wind was strong and blowing directly down the runway. Perth is known for having good conditions but Sunday was amazing.

Hi Guys,

As you've probably seen in the past few days Mark has been visiting Perth, during which time he has been trying to convince me that Flotrack is the greatest website ever. Upon close inspection I have to agree with him. Flotrack rocks and it's great to see so many people getting involved, be it posting video's, bogging or just logging on and checking out the content. I've gotta say it gives me a really good feeling about the future of our sport. I did notice though that field eventers we're way out numbered, so I… more »
