Working 5 to 9

I have absolutely nothing to say.
I guess that's the whole point though.
The past 5 weeks have flown by and it seems like I've done nothing outside of training.

If I'd have looked at the shear volume of work I was doing at the moment a few years ago I wouldn't have believed it possible. Like anything else though you just get the routine happening you roll it out.

Monday's and Thursday's look like this:

Alarm. Morning Session. Breakfast. Physiotherapy. Nap. Pole Vault Session. Ice Bath. Snack. Weights Session. Dinner. Bed.

While Tuesday's and Friday's look like this:

Alarm. Breakfast. Morning session. Coffee. Running Session. Beach. Lunch. Physiotherapy/Massage. Nap. Weights Session. Dinner. Bed.

There are recovery days between and they are normally filled up with more treatment sessions, recovery sessions at the beach, gymnastics sessions and catching up on sleep.

A big night out for me at the moment might involve a movie (probably a 7:00pm screening because I'm exhausted by the time those 9:00pm ones roll around) and in bed by 10. Yes, it's an exciting life at the moment, there's no denying that.

The thing is, it's fantastic! I love it, I'm working so hard and on a daily basis I'm seeing improvements in all aspects of my training. The dedication I'm showing on the training track is being reflected in my diet, recovery sessions and sleeping habits. It's a really good feeling to know that your doing absolutely everything that you can for your preparation. Although sometimes it feels like it's never-ending.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel though and a bright one at that, I booked my ticket to Europe this week and I'll leave on the 12th of June. This is when the real fun begins. I get to start competing against the guys I will be facing in Beijing on a weekly basis and fine tuning my competition routine in preparation for the big one.

So with that carrot dangling in front of me it's time to get back to work.
