i have left north america for the first time in my life. i am officially 13 hours from US Central time. there hasn't been anything to traumatic so far, except the 11 1/2 hour flight from san francisco to beijing. but that was a small price to pay for the priviledge. the chinese are pulling out all of the stops. putting on a smile with every task they perform. in the village, i've seen more volunteers and workers than i have athletes and coaches. the size of the city is hidden by the sleepy bus rides and greenery around the highway. the traffic in and around the compound is very light. (and we drove through at rush hour)

since arriving at the olympic village, i've since moved to Dalian (the usoc/track and field training site) it took an hour flight and about 4 hours of waiting around to get here. and i'll will remain here for a week or so, until the opening ceremonies.

the USOC/IOC have some strict rules about athletes blogging about their experience, so i need to read up a little more on what i can and cannot report on. but let me know what you'd like to know on my site TREYHARDEE.COM and i'll see what i can do to get you the answers!

take care and God bless the USA.

Trey, I am strongly holding this prayer and thought of you and Jesus and God exploding out of the blocks on the 100 Meter and breaking or tieing your PR in the 100 meter. And my prayer and thought includes you doing likewise in the Long Jump. Hold tightly to your faith in all your events. I was visited by Jesus in 1990 when sending remote healing to someone in Michigan. God, Jesus, and the other Avatars of Jesus stature (which includes my Guru) are the greatest sources of Love, Peace, and Power in the universe.
Here is a mantra to give you strength in the 1500 "Jesus, He's us" . Meaning "Jesus, he is us". These words came from the lips of my Guru who is very likely India's greatest living Avatar (Saint if you prefer).
If you have any more insomnia recognize it as God giving you some more time to pray and pray yourself back to sleep.
If God wants you to win you WILL win. Connect to that Divine strength and Take it to 'em!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trey, Just wanted to let you know that in the Washington Post this morning, there was a great big color picture of you in the sports section. DC is a city that leaves me starved for Track and Field coverage in the media, so to have anything at all in the paper was an awesome treat. To have coverage of a decathlete pretty much blew me away. Just wanted to let you know that you're a celeb in the District.

Knowing the host country I would bet the restrictions have to do with what kinds of things he sees in China and how he chooses to write about them.

He probably just can't talk about the events themselves like who won what. Those rights are probably reserved for whoever buys up television coverage for the Olympics. NBC right? He can probably talk about an event or his event after it airs, though. I'm just guessing. Good job getting there, Trey. You're the man.
