i had a conversation with my strength coach yesterday during the inauguration. "what an amazing time to live in." unless you were born after 1990, you might remember a time when there was no internet, no AOL, no cell phones, etc. it was cool to think about how i can tell my kids where i was when barack was sworn in... training in a sweaty gym for the world championships in berlin.

also, today we can log on to flotrack and follow whoever and whatever meet we wish... BF (before flotrack) you had to imagine what races must have looked like as you sifted through pages and pages of pdf's or delta timing results. it's exciting to think about what happening around the corner AF (after flotrack) for our "new media" community.

almost all of you have heard of the newest edition in the social networking world, know as "twitter". flotrack is on it. i get my updates from them there almost daily. where they are, what they're doing, etc. it's nice to have so many outlets to get all the track info i need and keep up with the guys of flotrack. there are countless number of other track and field athletes on twitter, updating and alterting the community about happenings in their lives.

i can only blog so much... it's not easy writing a paragraph every time i take my dog for a walk, but it's pretty simple to jot down a quick "heads up" or a "check this out".

i encourage you all to get involved and let us all know what you're up to. how was training that day. what kind of workout do you have tomorrow?

you can follow me and my day to day journey to berlin at twitter.com/treyhardee

take it easy and take some time today to think about these amazing times we live in.

Forget Anonymous coward, I like hearing what these guys have been up to and picking up tips from them. I wanna see this sport be cleaned up and it starts by allowing these athletes to share some of their personal life with us. Rock on trey!

i'm on twitter to follow the things i think are imortant.... i keep up with the flotrack guys and other media outlets on there so i know what's up with my sport.... i follow my mom, my sister, and close friends on twitter. its also a means for them to see what i'm up to without making an obligatory phone call. i don't consider myself egotistical for wanting to do that. i just wanted to ENCOURAGE EVERYBODY to sign up and get involved.

I think its cool.
In track and field we have to promote ourselves or the sport will die.
Keep it up Trey

the whole twitter thing seems a bit egotistical. Do you really think someone cares about what your are doing every waking moment?
