I will have my long run built up this week and i will shorten some other runs to make the mileage the same. When I get 4 more miles on my long run i will stop building up. I will stop building up so erratically now that I am "back in shape." I will stay at the mileage for 3 weeks at a time because right now I am in peak condition from last year, better shape than last summer and at the highest mileage I attempted last year. I feel good so far with only a little soreness. I know, however, that it WILL pay off. Hard work done effectively cannot do any harm . Yet, as I have learned, I must do it smartly as to avoid injury. As I learned a few months ago building up speed in a long run plus distance can be disastrous, = chronic soreness for like 3 weeks ( almost like a marathon) . So now I will play it safer, have faith in my training, team and coaches workout plans and I will meet my goals.
