tommorows tempo run

tommorow I will add 1 mile to my tempo run and slow it down just a little bit so that I can do so. Hopefully by the time I get to practice with the team my tempo will be up to 6-7 miles. The goal is 7 miles at a 5:30 pace , passing the 10k mark in about 34:06 and passing my 7 mile mark at about 38:30.

What I'm worried about is some of your comments on Pj's page about u being tired from all the training... that's not good man. You shouldn't be tired at all. You should just be coming back in solid aerobic shape and ready for a long and grueling xc season. The speed will catch up to you, especially if you burn out man from summer training. PJ could be doing alot more, but he is just staying consistent and keeping up his mileage and aerobic fitness. My miles havn't been up there, but I'm in great all-around shape with lifting every day and biking twice a week. I'll be set come November. Me and Brendan are the top 2 returners from last year, and eventhoiugh that doesn't mean anything for this year, it means we know some of the stuff that will be thrown at you and we know how to handle it. Good luck and I'll see you in a couple of weeks!!! If you need anything, feel free to contact me.

I do not under any circumstances doubt what you guys are saying but what I wonder is why coach gave me that crazy schedule, which is the hardest training I have ever done. when something says "tempo" or intervals, I really pound it out . At my old school we rarely ever did speedwork so when I did mine I had to make it count. You know? But what all of you guys are saying makes more sense than my actions.

yeah you need to slow down mate. Just get the miles in. 70 miles is fine. Believe me when I say speed will come when Coach Will gets you doing some of the workouts...
