I got in a nice 6 mile workout in the rain on friday. It was a nice change since it's been so hot on all of my runs and the rain had a really nice feeling instead of the sweat that I'm used to. There was an incident where a teammate slipped face-first into a puddle, which was one of the most funny things I've seen. (He was fine, got out of the puddle and started running again). The way back felt extremely fast, and I want to say it was at about a 5:50 pace, though it was probably slower than that because of the rain.

But of course, even with a fun workout like that, I can't forget that I have my first meet coming up next week. Here's where I find out if the hard work I put in this summer paid off. Here's where I can see how much better I've gotten since I ran 19:55 (Terrible) last cross country season. I feel that I could run 18:30 or slightly better with the current shape that i'm in, but was a 400-something mile summer good enough for that?
