The Suffolk Coaches Meet on Saturday that I had been looking forward to for so long was cancelled for rain the day before. The day of the meet it wasn't even raining, but I guessed that the course was in bad condition or something. I was annoyed because I'd get to see some friends that I had met at the Running School during the summer, and also it'd be the only time I'd get to race at Sunken Meadow during the season. We still had practice of course, but it was made a little later so I got extra sleep, and it was also a track workout. (4x1 miles, 60 seconds rest). I did them in 5:32, 5:42, 5:49, and 5:39. The last mile was a massive negative split when I came in for over 2:57 at the 800. It was a good workout.

I guess it was good to be home instead of a meet for an entire day. My usual group of friends were all busy, and my girlfriend was in the city with relatives. I ended up calling a friend I hadn't seen since the summer. I worked at a soccer thing with her last year, and we'd been hanging out occasionally since then. We ended up watching Never Back Down which I've had on DVD since August and never watched. We both liked it, but we both agreed that it was one of the most predictable movies that we've ever seen.

Unfortunately, there isn't going to be a league meet next week because of the Jewish holiday, but I guess I can wait it out till the next one. I'm still really disappointed that because we aren't going to go to the rescheduled meet, we'll only run at two courses this season, Bethpage and Van Cortlandt.

Sunken Meadow may have to wait till next year...
