Scot(Bauhs)land

In a couple of hours I will head off to the airport for the long journey to Edinburgh. I am really excited for my second Team USA appearance and my first trip to Europe. My bags are packed and I've checked at least 8 times to make sure that my passport is in the same place that I left it.
I don't feel any pain at all in my foot anymore and work outs have gone pretty well. Last Thursday I did 8 1/2 miles out in the park with 1 minute recovery in 2:26,2:21,2:25,2:24 (all slightly uphill) 2:20,2:20,2:18,2:17 (slightly downhill), This Saturday I did a speed maintenance workout on the warm up track at Sac state in between my teammates races with 46,62;44,60;44,59 and while my legs didn't feel too sharp it was a nice little session, and yesterday I did 8 by 1k with 2 minutes rest on our 1k repeat course out in the park (it is a long skinny v with about a 170 degree turn at one end) and my times were 3:00,2:57,2:55,2:53,2:56,2:56,2:54,2:55. I don't really know what the workouts in the park translate to on the track. I always do my workouts on dirt in trainers and sometimes I am dodging in and out of dog walkers and Ipod joggers but I am happy with these workouts. I believe that I have progressed nicely since USA cross.
I'm hoping that I can update this blog a few times over the trip if I can sneak off to the "Cyber Cafe" as they call it. If there is anything that anyone is curious about don't be afraid to ask.

you stole my idea! haha jk

Have fun out there. I bet the course will be pretty sweet, and I bet toeing the same line as Bekele will be an experience of a lifetime as well... hopefully not the last.

I suppose I should cite David Mosier who came up with the Scot(Bauhs)land concept before he calls me out for stealing his idea and claming it as my own.
