Almost there

So the trials have started and I have been escaping the madness by staying in Chico but today I will join the party. My flight leaves at 1:55 from Sacramento and I will fly over Oregon for a Layover in Seattle before heading down to Eugene. I am super excited to get there and watch the races this evening.

After that there are two dead days where my sole task will be keeping myself from going insane thinking about my own race. So far I have done a good job of not really getting too nervous, hopefully I can continue that once I get there. It is impossible not to think about trying to make the team but it is much more important to me to just have a good race whether I'm top 3 or not. I'm not feeling too much pressure and hopefully it stays that way.

My running has been going well, if you haven't had a chance to check out the video of my workout put up last Wednesday you should do it, Vern did a good job editing (something I don't do with my blogs). I haven't had any spectacular mind-blowing workouts but I have consistantly had solid workouts which is much more important. I know I'm ready and should have a good race, I just don't know how my competition is fairing... So I'm not going to worry about the competition and I'm going to try not to think about the Olympics, all I'm going to do is go into the race and try to have fun. This is my first Olympic Trials and its already a dream come true.

If you run your race and fight every inch of the way, you can take pride in your performance, in your achievement, however you stack up against the others. You have no control over how they run, only over how you run. Good luck.
