One More Race

Scott Bauhs | Profile
December 11, 2008

I've got one more race to cap off a crazy year. Since my embarrassing Olympic Trials I haven't lost a race and it would be great to go out on top again at Saturdays USATF Club Cross-Country Championships.

The Field is pretty good with Hansons, OTC, McMillan and Zap all entered. This will be the first time I have ever raced Brian Sell.

The competition is going to be pretty tough but maybe not as tough as the weather. It is going to be pretty gnarly in Spokane this weekend. I thought I got the worst of it for the year in Slippery Rock but it looks like it was merely a tune up for the real storm this weekend. I'm sure the Hansons guys love it.

It took a bit to recover from two hard races in 5 days but I'm feeling pretty smooth again. It also feels a bit odd running 4 weeks in a row of under 70 miles, I've gotten used to a two week taper but I still feel strong and pretty close to my peak.

In other news: I have signed with Peter Stubbs Management (PSM) and we are working on a shoe deal. I am really comfortable with PSM and Dan Lilot, an athlete manager for them. He has been very helpful with the process and will be a great resource for my running over the next few years. Hopefully a shoe deal can be finalized by January 1 which has been the goal all along.

Steve Scott and Bob Hayes were both D2 athletes, when you step on the track it does not matter if your D1,2 or 3, that's what we love about track and field. Good luck Scott, let the demons free :)

Hey ToughRoadAhead, I don't think that is news to anyone. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Racing people that are (way) better than you is a good thing! Helps you improve!
Following running in general as much as AAA baseball is probably a step up from the average american.. So everyone should take take that as a compliment to DII running!!
