New Years Celebration

Scott Bauhs | Profile
January 2, 2009

In the first minutes of 2009 I did something that I will never forget. I made a terrifying decision that I could not reverse. I proposed to my girlfriend Audrey Allas.

Luckily she said yes and is now my fiancee. Both her family and mine were present to witness the event and she hasn’t taken off the ring since.

Audrey and I have been dating for about 2 and half years now. We started dating with in a few weeks of her arrival in Chico and knew very early on that it was something special. She brings out the best in me and has been very crucial in the way I have grown over the time we have known each other.

Since this is a running website I feel obligated to relate my blogs to running. Audrey has been one of my biggest fans since we met. The only people that could possibly be as loyal of fans are my parents and they are pretty hard to compete with. She has been over the country chasing me around at my different races. She even paid her own way to Scotland to watch me run at the World Cross-Country championships last year. Her family have become pretty big fans as well and have made it to a few of my events as well.

I was a decent runner before I started dating her but since I have been with her a lot of my running dreams have come true. With her support I have gone from being a 29:39 10k runner to a 27:48 guy in two years. I have been to Asia and Europe and I am now able to make a living with my feet and she has been with me every step of the way. Now she will be there indefinitely.

Scott,
My name is Javier or as the Allas family knows me...Jay. You don't know me, but I know Audrey. She was just a little girl when I moved my family to Rancho Cucmamonga in May of 1990.
It really blows my mind to think that she is now old enough to be at college and engaged to be married. My wife and I remember her with fond memories. Congrats to You and Audrey! May you two grow old together with many great memories to share.
Please pass on my regards to the Allas family, I lost touch with them a few years back. My contact email is
Respectfully Jay Hinojos

It is wonderful when a man and a woman leave their parents to become one with each other in marriage. Remember to stick with it, through everything!
