I am in a pretty bad slump.? I have completed no workouts in two and one half weeks, and have been generally sidelined for a month and a half.? However, I did have a great track season. ?God has given me some great running times?and God now?has taken them?away for a while. It does?hurt that this is all happening right before my first collegiate season.? I pray that my IT Band will feel better soon.? I plan to stop running for a week while I am gone on a mission trip to Vancouver.? Lord willing, I will emerge refreshed, healthy… more »

So once again, I was running on willowbrook road. Apparently all the shit happens there. This car full of faggots slows down and starts to pace me. As I was running, they would be reading off how fast I was going but in a bro way. "Yo boss, this fag is only running 8 miles an hr." then "oh shit this boss slowed down to 6 miles an hr." I called them fags but they continued to be dicks. About one minute later, I said "I think you guys should drive away while you still can". The lead fag then… more »

Today is the official day that I have been training in Vermont with Ryan and Steve for a week, and it is already more awesome than I expected. Every day we run on trails and or dirt roads that go on for miles and can be rather hilly, and at night Brother Bob, who has been gracious enough to host us, cooks us delicious meals. For me its almost like living at home except I have people to train with and much better places to run. The weathers been pretty rainy and cool mostly, which isnt bad for running, but… more »

Building an aerobic base

For the last month I have been putting in mileage in the morning and occassionally doing a second daily run. When I do not do 2nd runs I complement my morning run with an afternoon long swim or a bike ride at an easy "heart healthy" pace. what does anyone else think about this? Will it help to boost my aerobic base? It does not seem to effect my runs at all . But I feel it helps to develop other muscle groups. more »

I've started the task of upping my mileage. I'm planning on hitting a 55mile week. This will be the most I have ever run in one week. I use a couple sections of some runs as time trials once in a while, usually early on a longer run, knowing I am going to continue for another hour.
