i guess this yr ( in response to that article by john canzano ) rupp made it know that he's def on the road to becoming the next pre. winning the xc title, indoor 3k, outdoor 10k and 5k ( after stopping to fix his shoe and running 1:55 last 800 ). i think this yr has legitimized himself that much more, only thing left is to see what he'll do on the world stage.
Galen Rupp is a great runner and I respect him very much but if people want to compare him to legendary runners this kid doesn't even come close. This kid doesn't look like he's hit puberty yet. Good runner but I know he has more in him. He just needs that fire

He is obviously a good guy, a great, great talent, and will do well in Bejing. But it is indeed a fact he looks like the 14 year old kid down the street. I think thats part of the resentment- we all want to look younger, go back to the innocence and happiness of youth when we all thoug we could run a world class 5K with the world ahead of us. Galen has it down and people don't like it.

This guy is a real talent and he has earned our support. He's got a great future in the sport. The haters have their own agenda and we should really just ignore them. He's got many more supporters.
Galen Rupp is a baller and one of the best runners the US has to offer (obviously). Anyone who would talk trash on him for no reason is an idiot. Leave the man alone.

Sorry, I know I shouldn't engage these kids who make childish posts, but what's up with "Gay Rupp" calling Galen Rupp a loser. The guy is 22 years old and he made the Olympic team. What have you done besides hide behind a pseudonym to post a provocative comment that makes you look like a fool, coward and a loser yourself. Let's keep it positive and, if you must, stick to constructive criticism. Letrun.com may be a better place to vent your insecurities.
