Flotrack headed up to Beantown for the Marathon a few weeks ago, and our friends James Carney and Dan Green from New Balance invited us out to the design & production center, just outside Boston. For the first time, we saw how shoes are tested, designed, and produced from threads to the final product. It was pretty amazing, especially when we realized that this will probably the only time we would ever see shoes being made. New Balance is the only running shoe manufacturer that still produces shoes in the good 'ol USA.

We felt like you should see it too, and in typical Flotrack fashion the guys out at the factory suggested we have a contest to get the community involved.

Time to break out the crayons, pencils, finger paint, and photoshop. Saucony gave Flotrack a holler and had us come to their HQ just outside of Beantown in the midst of a blizzard to give us the lowdown on the 2nd Annual Spike Contest. Check out the video with Ryan and the characters from Saucony-ville, and start uploading your most funkadelic designs.

2008 Olympian and Hansons-Brooks star Brian Sell is preparing for the Olympic Marathon in Beijing on Aug 24th and we are excited about his chances and decided to get in the spirit by throwing a contest. Brian shows up to every race with a new look, either a fu manchu, dirty stash, chops or a Paul Bunyan beard. We are asking you guys to "Sell Yoursellf" and show us your best facial hair. You could win a signed pair of Brian's special Brooks T6 Racer, a Brooks Track Heritage Jacket or an Olympic marathon watching party at your shoe store and most importantly....... Brian's respect.
