yeah, this guy clearly does not know how to ask good questions. NBC does suck too, Flotrack's interviews are a ton better. The next best thing for track is to have it's own channel, tennis has one so why cant we? like a flotrack station, yeah it would be hard to do though. |

The function of media relations in situations like that is to line up the best interviews possible and be an excuse to end/avoid interviews. The client, like Hasay, can wave them off if they want, but they usually *claim* that they have to go cuz media relations says so. Besides, talking to the press is only fun the first couple of times. After that, it's more of a bother than anything. |

Too many media relations people think its their job to shield athletes from the media. This girl just set a national record. Let her enjoy the spotlight, and let the reporters do their job to report a huge story. |
