I run for WSU. In my mind Lagat can do anything.

Ok? 3 years ago

Peter Miller,

You honestly think Lagat at the age of 38 can compete with the legs of Rashid Ramzi (08 Gold Medalist 1500m), possibly Webb, possibly Fernandez, Ulrey, and even Manzano? These guys in four years will be sickkkk!!!!! These are just the guys he has to beat in order to just qualify for London. Then you got the Kenyans, some Europeans and of course Ramzi. I don't know man, at the age of 38, thats a stretch for me. But I love kip and I hope you're right, I just don't see it..

You kiddin "ok?" Lagat is gonna tear it up in 2012! He is still healthy and very dominant. He has a lot of getting worse to do before the "young legs" can even catch up to him!

I hope Lagat is as smart at training as Carlos Lopes of Portugal was. Lopes won the 1984 Olympic Marathon in Los Angeles at age 37 and also set a world's 10K record as about the same age.

a class act 100%.

ok? 3 years ago

if hes 34 right now, and he's setting his eyes on 2012, for gold, he MUST be dreaming. 38 year olds cannot compete with the young legs, plain and simple. i love this guy but come on, lets be realistic. i would be surprised if he qualifies FOR the olympics again.

Lagat is amazing, waching him race almost brings tears to my eyes, it is pure beauty. He by far the best Americian middle distance runner today, mabey ever. If he had been healthy he would have dominated in Beijing. You rock, Kip, go kick some ass

every time he watches the '04 olympic 1500m final, he thinks he's going to win with 150 to go. i read that somewhere.

Thank You Bernard for explaining and being open and sharing your experience. You are a hard and great runner. You are also very nice and carrying to the people in and around this sport. You were awesome to meet at the Olympic trials.
