German Fernandez runs 3:42 in Lubbock Texas at the Big 12 Conference Meet
Nice run but i wish there was a comentator instead of some person talking about the ghetto.
He wasn't trying 100%, almost every conference championship race is slow, he will need everything he's got for nationals anyway. I mean he ran his last lap in only 60 flat. For a 3:55 miler, he could have at least hit a 54-55 last lap if he went all-out at the end.
I have yet to meet him in person but I talked to him a while back on Facebook. He's a big German supporter like myself.
I know the difference between weak and slow but just cuz one guy had the guts to run away from everybody else does not mean the race was weak. And I just thought it was funny what he said about jenny cuz he made it sound like flanagan or goucher or many others don't exist. And in my opinion jenny isn't on sara and shalane's level yet.Oh and think either mark or Ryan must have put the hottie tag on this one. :)
I think the biggest reason he got the coverage was that he dominated the field just like the Big 12 indoor mile.
The PAC 10 1500 was way slower. The announcer had everyone in the crowd pissed! It was funny, at one point during the womens steeple he said that jenny b was America's greatest distance runner of any kind and that she was our best hope for medals at the world champs!

Pretty sure he was just doing what it took to win the race. It was probably more of a "see how fast I can run comfortable"
i understand german's the man and all and 3:42 is pretty swift but plenty of people have run better this season and not gotten any hype
