I have respect for Nate but honestly, I think he should find a coach. |

i finally got back to austin and saw this video. i cleaned up the comments because we got away from nate and it became a bashing session. i don't feel like thats what are site is about. there's plenty of other places where you guys can do that. i've gotten emails saying we're biased in comments and all....but truth is, as always, if you have a comment (good or bad) thats fine. but if its simply bashing, trashing, derogatory, and serves no purpose then yes it'll probably get removed. our system isn't perfect and sometimes things are missed. but regardless, there is too much negative around our sport and everyone likes to think they know it all. if you have sometime to add and wonder if its over the line here's a easy way to find out.....how would you state your opinion/thought if that person were standing right in front of you. |

So...Nate did have an option to go to world champs. No one can mistake that as a great opportunity. I am trying not to disrespect him by saying this, maybe it is the system's fault but when Nate was given the opportunity to run at world championships, he did know he was not capable of racing, maybe even running for that manner. As the team coach of usa track and field, knowing Nate was in poor shape (physically and mentally) why run him? why pay for him to make the trip? Torres DNS because of a calf injury. |

No, he's saying that those above average but not great college runners who are on the cusp between pursuing a professional career and pursuing a running career should really think about going after the running one cuz you will never know your limits unless you test them |

The system is messed up. EVERYONE knew that Nate would have a difficult time running under 2:30. He has looked horrible for the last 8 months (at least). He should have been told NO. Some of you will remember Nate as a 2:14 guy at the trials. I will always remember him along with Torres and Young for setting back American Marathoning on the World Stage. We are being laughed at by nearly everyone (including Canada) for how bad our male marathoners are. |

Nate, today you demonstrated not just what running is about, but what LIFE is about. It's about staying in the game and doing your best through the toughest of times. Anyone who watched your race knows that you never gave in for a second; you showed courage and determination that makes me so proud to see from an American athlete. Thank you for going the distance and being an inspiration to me and many others. |

Nate's got the heart of a true runner. To have the opportunity to experience the sport at that level is every runner's dream. I'm glad he was given that opportunity by the "federation". All of us runners that can only dream of being in an event like this should all write a check today. Keep on running!!! |

sorry guys but the americans stunk!!!! why did we send guys who thought they were just going to hit the 2:20. you guys wasted the the federation's money!!! and to the guys who have run 2:10 or better(meb, abdi) shame on you. i know the other marathons (ex. nyc marathon) pay you more but these are the world champs. |

Keep at it Nate! Even if you have to get a job, keep running man. Glad you finished, too! Don't worry, you may just need a little change but, you'll PR again! |

What a good guy, it's too bad how happens like that. Hopefully he can keep on running and get that hamstring injury straightened out. He certainly makes me want to keep running. |
