Ryan Hall's first tempo run for Houston 2012
We look back about 2 months to Ryan Hall's first tempo run in NYC as he started his build up to the Houston 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials. The workout comes less than four weeks after Chicago and only 9 weeks before the Olympic Trials. Less just say Ryan looked smooth and recovered from Chicago....he even surprised himself. Dathan Ritzenhein, a 2-time US Olympian, is coming off of injury along with some other crazy set backs. Its been almost a year since we've last seen him race but as we heard from his mouth, he is back! Chris Erichsen - Mile Repeats - 2011 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials
Chris Erichsen returned to Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN for six weeks of training leading up to the 2011 USA Olympic Marathon Trials held in Houston, TX on January 14th. Chris ran 6 x 1 mile on a cool, foggy December day ranging from 4:45 to 4:50 with 4:00 jog recovery between reps. Warm-up, workout, and cool-down totaled 18 miles for the morning in the middle of a 150 mile week. Chris would like to thank Target Corp. for their phenomenal support. They were kind enough to grant him a three-month paid leave of absence leading up to the Trials. Chris has been a business analyst at Target Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN for three years and continues to work there full-time. Chris has won his first two marathons; at Fargo in 2010 and at Virginia Beach in 2011. His personal best going into the Trials is 2:18.25 from the latter race. Chris also ran 1:04.29 at the Gary Bjorklund-Marathon in Duluth, MN this past June. His qualifying times rank him 63rd in the 163 runner field. Chris looks to improve upon his personal best in Houston and finish as high as possible.

This past April Desiree Davila was two seconds away from becoming the first American women since 1985 to win the Boston Marathon when she ran 2:22:38, just behind Caroline Kilel. The time was the fastest ever by an American at Boston. A lot of people were amazed by Desi's performance, but in this interview we find out Desi wasn't pleased...her goal was to win. In one race Desi went from good to the best in the country. Desi has improved in every marathon she has ever run starting from her 2007 Boston debut where she ran 2:44:56. Ryan Bak after running 2:14:17 marathon at CIM
Ryan Bak made his road marathon debut at the 2011 Cal International Marathon (CIM) and ran a surprising 2:14:17 to finish second overall. The results come after Ryan returns to competitive running, which he "retired" from in 2009. Bak, a former D3 national champ at Trinity and feature athlete in the movie "5000 Meters", last trained professionally with Gags and the OTC team in Eugene. He had been living in St. Louis the past few years but recently made the move to Bend, OR where he now trains with trail champ Max King.

Crosby Freeman qualified for the Olympic Trials when he ran 1:04 in the half marathon on a challenging course in San Francisco in 2009. He then proceeded to debut at the 2009 Chicago Marathon in 2:20. 2010 started well with solid racing racing and 28:56 in the 10k on the track. That fall Crosby was hit with a stress fracture, but he is now healed and using his experience to prepare for the the Olympic Trials Marathon. Eyes on Houston - Brooke Wells
Brooke Wells broke through at the 2010 Chicago Marathon. She ran 2:37, racking up a three minute lifetime best and hitting the Olympic Trials A standard. At the time she laughed off the fact that the skin on the inside of her knees rubbed raw in the race. At the time it seemed like it a minor sacrifice for such a great effort. Unfortunately, those wounds were the results of a greater biomechanical issue, and her focus turned to solving a subborn injury over the next seven months. UC Berkeley alum Chris Chavez qualified for the Olympic Trials Marathon when he ran 1:04:35 for the half marathon in 2010. Last year he also ran 28:59 on track for 10k and went into the 2010 Chicago Marathon with high hopes. Wardian won the Bronze Medal at the 2009 and 2010 50K World Championships in Gibraltar. He also got 3rd at the 2010 100K World Championships in Gibraltar and 6th the year before at the 100K World Champs in Belgium. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 Wardian won the USATF 50K National Championships.
