300 runners competed at the 2011 NIRCA Great Lakes Regional, one of the largest fields a NIRCA event has seen outside of a National Championship. Fantastic weather and competitive fields added to the day, which saw Michigan-Ann Arbor's women continue their regional stronghold by securing the team victory. Indiana's men thwarted the Michigan-Ann Arbor men's squad which had been so dominant, taking the victory from the host club 49-50. 16 teams competed in the men's race, and 13 in the women's race.
