Aries Merritt runs personal best 12.92 for GOLD!!!!


USA's Aries Merritt has had the year of his life! He has been a pillar of consistency since the US Trials, running 12.93 three times and 12.94 in the semi-finals, but he has done it again in the 110H final with another personal best of 12.92 for the gold in a head wind!!! Merritt is the first athlete to bring home the gold for the US in the event since 1996! Teammate and World Champion Jason Richardson followed him for silver in 13.04 and Hansle Parchment of Jamaica grabbed bronze in 13.12 for a national record! Unfortunately for Dayron Robles, the defending Olympic champion, the hurdler pulled up with an injury and was unable to finish the race.
