Alan Webb and Robby Andrews with Italian Stalian sponsorship after great 1500 runs at 2012 USATF Oxy HP
Robby Andrews and Alan Webb ran in the their first 1500m race together this past weekend at the 2012 USATF Oxy High Performance Meet. For both athletes things are going in the right direction as the spring progresses. Andrews had a huge breakthrough with a near seven second PR running 3:34 and almost outkicking World 5k Champ Mo Farah. Webb continued to show improvement as he ran a season's best 3:37. Flotrack was able to chat with the duo to talk about training together, Webb's confidence and Robby being back to his old self. Oh yeah, don't forget about Robby's Italian Stalian sponsorship and Webb's imitation of Gags, all good things.

Dathan Ritzenhein finally excited after grabbing 5k A standard at 2012 USATF Oxy HP
Its been a while since we've seen Dathan Ritzenhein excited and positive after a performance, however after Oxy something different was going on. Dathan didn't win, didn't PR and he's coming off a stress reaction....but regardless of all that he was PUMPED! Dathan did compete, did run his second fastest 5k ever and did grab the Olympic A Standard! Ritz is moving forward healthy and excited about what is to come. Now we have to ask the question, how dangerous is a happy Dathan Ritzenhein?? The last time we saw Ritz in such high spirits we had run 12:56 for the American 5k record (Watch the RACE & INTERVIEW from Zurich in 2009) which was followed up with a bronze medal at the 2009 World Half Marathon Championships (he ran 60:00 for the #2 US half all-time). Look out Eugene, here comes Ritz...
Nick Symmonds talks possible double at Trials after PR in 1500 at USATF Oxy HP 2012
Nick Symmonds drops a big PR at the 2012 USATF Oxy High Performance Meet and all of a sudden sounds like he ready to dabble outside of the 800 meters on the big stage. Symmonds, the US top 800 meter man, lets us know that he is thinking of running the 800/1500 double at the US Olympic Trials in June. This really mixes things up in a race that is already super stacked. People beware, if you leave the Trials race to a kicker's affair you may find Symmonds blowing by you with 50 meters to go!

Evan Jager faces the water pit and talks mental lapse in steeple after 2012 USATF Oxy 2012
Evan Jager had a very smooth successful debut in the steeplechase at Mt. SAC but the 2012 USATF Oxy High Performance Meet did not show the same results. Jager, in only his second steeplechase ever, looked to be running away with a win and big PR until he reached the final water barrier. Having what he calls a "mental lapse" Jager over shot the barrier and found himself submerge in water. Evan picked himself up to finish with a PR and Olympic A standard, but he was back in 3rd with his ego a bit bruised. Watch Race Here
Andrew Wheating after getting beat in first 800 at 2012 USATF Oxy HP
In his first 800 in almost a full year, Wheating grabbed 2nd in 1:46.83. But more importantly, Wheating looks to be healthy and ready to sharpen up for the trials. Two races down now for Andrew and it looks like full steam ahead for another olympic run.
