Cameron Levins has been knocking on the door of college elite status throughout his senior campaign, but this week in Des Moines he has cemented himself as the undisputed distance king with NCAA titles in both the 10k and 5k. His intensive training regiment has produced incredible strength with a brutal kick that no one seems to have an answer to in the college ranks. Here Cam talks about his feelings on his 5k win, how he got here and where he is going.

Cam Levins has proved the ethic of a great base of mileage...enabling that phenomenal finishing speed. The anonymous and cowardly person who called him a 'douche' (comments below) would probably last 3 seconds in a fight. As for his comment that 'Galen would demolish' him...even Rupp or Salazar would be wary of making that assertion. Any guy who can run inside 27.30 with a 54 last lap has got the speed and endurance to run with anybody. Rupp has pace...but I don't recall him running any quicker over a last lap.Levin's coach, Houle, has done a brilliant job.

How can anyone hate this kid..... He is the definition of hard work. 4:18 miler turned NCAA Champ... 150 miles a week! Strait Blue Collar, reminds me so much of the Brain Sell story 4 years ago about how he wasn't ever favored and put in insane amounts of mileage. Even tho he is from the Great North he is an amazing runner that should inspire every guy that works there tail off and doesn't get any recognition for it it.

HE IS A DOUCHE!!!! 11 months ago

ARRRGGH HAAHAAHA ARRGGH....THATS ALL I HEAR FROM HIM...GALEN WILL DEMOLISH YOU!!! GO BACK TO CANADA EHH!!!

That's weird. Cam Levins just ran past my window - and I live in NYC.

How many miles does that guy run a week?

2.5-1.25? 11 months ago

Some exponential decay in there? Not sure if I was following his logic ha. Seriously though Cam is the man and I really hope he continues to have a long, healthy, and successful career. So inspiring to see him come up from the ranks to be a double national champion. If you told the running world during XC that Cam Levins would win the 10k AND 5k outdoor no one would believe you, even after indoor. Such an awesome story.

Yet again, Cam MF Levins comes out on top with a simply awe inspiring run and a breathtaking finish. Cam is an amazing competitor and inspiration to so many with his tenacious work ethic and legendary will to win. He already makes me so proud to be a Canadian and I cant wait to see what he does at the next level. Good luck in London and beyond Cam and congrats on your TWO NCAA division one national championships!
