Shalane Flanagan Workout - Episode #7
A few weeks ago Shalane Flanagan had her sights set on the 5k at the 2008 Olympic Trials.....that was before she became the American record holder in the 10k. With Eugene just over 3 weeks away, many people have thoughts about which event will be her strongest. Did you ever think about her doing both?
Either way, this workout done in Colorado Springs will show you that you need more than just intervals and miles to make it to the top.

CU's Gold Hill - Harder than Mags
Coach Mark Wetmore's training philosophy emphasizes the development of a huge aerobic base for his runners. The CU team is known for having a Sunday long run that usually last for two hours. For today's Sunday run the Buffaloes travel to Gold Hill. Gold Hill a harder run than "Mags" or Magnolia road, a road just outside of Boulder, made famous in Chris Lear's book, "Running with the Buffaloes?"
Weight Session w/Trey Hardee
NCAA and Collegiate Record Holder in the Decathlon, Trey Hardee has been plagued by injuries since he broke the record two years ago at the 2006 Texas Relays. Trey will be competing at the 2008 Texas Relays and Flotrack went to see how he was doing and follow him around in the weight room.

Leo Manzano will be no stranger to the World scene this year when he hits Beijing. Last year he made the US team in the 1500 and "had no idea what was going on." Episode #1 - U of Texas, Part 1

Anna Willard 2008 Olympian Steeplechase
This workout was filmed about a week after the US Trials, the day before Anna was leaving for Europe. Workout was pretty short and not too difficult, but sharpening Anna up for some upcoming races. UMichigan runner, Nicole Edwards, is working out with Anna getting ready for NECACs.
Anna steps on the line in Beijing this Friday, Aug 15th in the first round of the women's steeplechase.
Alistair Cragg Hill Workout
Bernard Lagat won't be the only Olympian doing the 1500/5k double. Ireland's Alistair Cragg will also try his hand at it! Alistair has run some great 3k as of late and will be focusing more on the 5k. This workout was an early part of his preparation in Fayetteville at the well-known Arkansas Golf Hill back in June. He is joined by Seth Summerside who had been coming off of injury and legendary Coach John McDonnell.
Episode #5 - Tarheel Blue
Last year's 1500 NCAA champ Brie Felnagle has a busy next few months ahead. Along with defending her NCAA title, she also has her sights set on the 2008 Olympic Trials. Watch as she goes through her hardest workout of the season, which set her up for a 4:08 1500 to top all collegiate athletes (also broke her own UNC school record).

Nick Willis 800 Time Trial before 2007 World Championships

Episode #6 - Go TIGERS!
5 years ago Matt Clark came to Clemson as a miler, now its his final season as a Tiger. Last year at NCAAs he made the 5k final but missed out on All-American honors. This year he ran 28:49 to qualify for the 10k and with only a few weeks left in the season his goal is to not only become All-American but to also better his chances at competing in the Olympic Trials. Sally Kipyego the 7 time NCAA Champion gets in her last track workout before the Kenya Trials. Coming off of NCAA's winning the 5000m in a solo 15:15.08 setting a new meet record and running an amazing 4:06.67 1500m to take second behind Hanna England and breaking another meet record.
