Coach Brad Hudson of Hudson Training Systems takes to the streets with two of his athletes who will be competing in this week's Chicago Marathon, Patrick Rizzo and Carlos Trujillo. Rizzo is coming off of a 2:13:42 PR and 13th place finish at the Olympic Trials in January while Trujillo will be making his marathon debut after setting a 10k PR of 28:15 this past spring. The progress run has the two picking up pace every 5k throughout the road loop in Boulder, Colorado. Learn more about Hudson Training Systems and what they offer by visiting their website.

The splits were off of my Garmin. The last 10k as measured by the course are accurate (shown in the video), wheeled out kilometers. The ones on my watch were in many cases long (Garmin doesn't handle curves and turns with 100% accuracy) and are what are shown in the description. That is what accounts for the discrepancy for 5k splits and for overall splits. Every 6th kilometer (3-9-15-21) are uphill slightly but are arrow straight, so those kilometers are the ones you see me resetting my watch splits based on.

Thanks to Flotrack, Hudson Training Systems, and Mizuno for the support and publicity helping me get ready for this marathon. If any readers/viewers are in Chicago to run or watch, please come by and introduce yourself and chat. Good luck, everyone!

Flotrack, you need to check the splits again. The ones under the video are not even close to those shown in the video.

Flotrack has been doing awesome lately in my opinion. The amount of content that they are getting amazes me.

Conspiracy Theory 8 months ago

When you're taking right turns, it's easier to not have to cross the street. Or it could be a conspiracy.

Why do they run on the right side of the road?
