I just want to say that Don Wasinger has been the face of this program for the last few years and it will be a bummer to see him go. and plus he is super cute.

Agreed, Kansas does not fit the profile this season, but maybe in the next 5 years they can make something happen.

Flotrack, stop. 6 months ago

The idea of Workout Wednesday is a privilege.... User-submitted workouts should not be a part of the prestige that comes along with being featured on Flotrack.

I just hope they didnt peak in September, the pack is getting farther apart every meet. :( Goodluck though. RockChalk!

Good/Bad? 6 months ago

Jus checked out some of the times from the team, seems too fast a work out this close to regionals for most of them; although, they made it look pretty easy. This could hurt them at regionals…..My reasoning…remember the nice littler workout the Friars had on flotrack a few years back? They did something somewhat close to this. Everyone was pumped, everyone thought they were gonna clean house at Nat's, and instead, they got they clocks CLEANED!! Will not be shocked to see KU run well at Regionals, but won't be shocked if they run poorly either. Please prove this hunch wrong, KU. I wish you luck either way!

haha I can assure you it was the coaches idea. And theres a reason for those monitors. If they're doing an aerboic tempo run they have a specific hearrate to stay at, if it's anaerobic then the heartrate is higher obviously. Those are known tempo standards from coaches like Joe Vigil.
Doubt it was the runner's idea because those things aren't comfortable, very usefull though to make sure your runners actually put forth the right amount of effort for the workout

Heart monitors? Who decide that, the coaches or the runners?

xccoach 6 months ago

It looks like they're wearing Garmin watches/HR monitors. If they were going too fast they probably would have known it. I suppose your definition of "tempo" could be different than theirs as well. I guess I'm not really sure what is "BS" about this, because the term "tempo" can mean different things. They looked smooth to me.

Anonymous Coward 6 months ago

no one on this team's good enough to run 20:04 for 4 miles and have it be a "tempo" effort. BS
