A year after his American record was broken by Galen Rupp, Bernard Lagat answered back at the 2013 Millrose Games to reclaim his record by running 8:09.49 which breaks the Rupp's mark by .23. Lagat now holds all US records between 1500 to 5k.

Very disappointed! At this rate, Lagat will run his first marathon when he is 80.
