Yep, that's right 10 years ago he'd be the star. Bumbi, is so fast! Everyone forgets how close he came (4th) and hung on with one of the best 5k teams America has ever sent. (I know we didn't medal, but on another day, and without Galen running the 10k/Lagat stumbling, we could've silver and bronzed.) And Bumbi was right there, almost qualified. A few more years and health, who knows? And look how fast Lopez looks! Exciting times for the 5 and 10k guys...they are also our best milers. That's the kind of speed you need to win and compete with world-class.

Great interview. Good to hear some insight into his training and future race plans.

if he was around 10 years ago, he'd be the star of US distance running.. shows how far americans have erupted with track town and nike spearheading the surge... bumby is gonna pop some big times outdoors..

please do a video visit to the nike house in portland and interview the portland group together, in their environs and training in forrest park and at the nike campus... would be great for us all to see what is crafting this slew of champion american runners...

So according to Schumacher, does that mean Rupp can run 8:01?

Watch out for this guy, he's steadily been improving as of late.
