No other American distance runner has the performance range of David
Torrence. With lifetime bests of 1:45, 3:34, 3:52, and 13:16, his combination of speed and endurance is unmatched in US history. The missing piece of Torrence's resume is a high placing at a championship meet.
This winter Torrence addressed the issue of his finishing speed by attending a speed camp in Florida with the rest of Team Cook. In this video, Torrence talks about what he is working on to finish faster.

THANK GOD
He was being slightly negative mentioning trying the steeple after the trials and I was like are you kidding me?? you run 1:45 theres no way you dont have speed and anyone can kick as long as they have the right biomachanics, so glad he decided to get it figured out! 2013 world 1500 team, Centro, Wheating, Torrence. Bet me. |

You guys are right. Webb's range is better than David's historically. There is nothing I would love more than to see Webb get back in the mix! |
