In 2012 Jessica Tebo, formerly Jessica Pixler, was the top seed in the NCAA and one of about only six women who had run the 5k Olympic A standard (sub-15:20). With the Olympic Trials in site and a realistic shot at making the London squad, Tebo suffered a broken foot at the NCAA Championships that sidelined her for the rest of the year. Tebo couldn't bring herself to even watch the Olympic Trials 5k and afterwards contemplated never running again. After regrouping and signing with new sponsor, Brooks, Tebo is getting healthy and looking ready to make a team in 2013!

uh....we want them to talk about themselves. That's why we watch these interviews! It is ALL ABOUT THEM!

It seems to me all these runners just like to talk about themselves. We've all been injured, we've all missed time, but we don't have get interviews about how hard it was. Talk to any hurt runner, and they'll tell you how hard it was. It's fun to express the emotional pain you went through. I've done it.
You know how happy she was, inside, to get to use the line, "I didn't watch it!" I understand she had a great setback, and that's quite unfortunate, but not supporting her friends and competitors? Never running again?

Here's a story for you Jess about your husband when he was in high school. We were at the Mt SAC Invitational track meet. Matt came over from New Mexico to run with AJ Acosta and others. Mel Lawrence was also there. So I'm standing around talking to AJ and I bent over and pulled out a 2-liter Pepsi out of my gym bag. Matt jumped on that right away. They were all finished with their races and he wanted to bet me $20 he could down that entire bottle non-stop. I took one look at AJ and chickened out. He was way too confident! So that's the guy you married, a Pepsi chugger and great runner. He came over again for the Arcadia Invite and both he and AJ ran their best-ever high school 3200. It was absolutely awesome. Matt had to pick AJ up off the track at the finish line.

No time to stop? But I love this girl. So sweet, humble, and sincere. Wish her the best. Untapped talent here. I think she can give any female pro a run for their money when healthy. Watch out Jenny Simpson.
P.S. Where are they? What city??
