Chasing times and meaningless championships meets are on the horizon.
If this stays for the next few years, USATF could hold their national championship on July 29th in 2014 and 2015, so fans know who is going to world and international meets to represent USA.This also gives colleges opportunities to hold track meets in the USA where local fans/ media can watch & support our athletes to get these international standards. The new summer track meets add opportunities similar to USATF road racing circuit. The new track series could change the way college athletes transition to professional athletes. The new track series could change the structure of compensation for USA athletes with sponsors.Sponsors have an opportunity to see how their sponsorship of athlete directly brings eyes to their product in domestic markets around the nation. We could see a July 4th 5000 meter race at Mt SAC, Early July 400 meter race at Baylor, Mid July long and triple jump showcase in Gainesville and Shot put in Tempe.USATF chairs like Ed Torres will have a clean slate to create new races and marketing opportunities for our nation's best.
